After reading with interest articles in the paper and diocesan news about the new high school to open in north Austin in 2009, we have been discussing the new school with others who have children in Catholic schools. We believe that this is one of the most exciting developments in the diocese in many years, and wanted to share our impressions of what we have heard and what we hope to see.But first a disclaimer, the opinions here do not necessarily represent the views of the diocese. We are parents not administrators, and we may make unintentional errors in describing what we have heard in informational meetings or casual conversations. We also intend to be respectful and faithful, and realize that those that we have met who have started the high school project have sacrificed thousands of hours in trying to make this dream a reality. They deserve our gratitude. Although no one school can serve all needs, as we try to live the gospel in our daily lives and teach our children Christian values this new school may help.
